Rosie is a self-taught, award winning textile artist designer and printer based on Thursday Island in the Torres Strait, creating and printing out of her home art studio with a small gallery situated at 78 Hargrave Street, Green Hill, Thursday Island.

Her studio overlooks the Thursday Island Harbour with nearby surrounding islands and views of mainland Australia in the background.

She prints on quality silks, satins, cotton and linen fabrics.

Rosie began hand printing as a hobby in 1986 and started participating mainstream and indigenous visual art exhibitions from 1996.

Her designs feature cultural and marine motifs that are printed repetitively.

Artistic inspiration comes from her culture, maritime history, tropical garden and the beautiful marine environment surroundings.

Her fabric lengths and wall hangings are in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia (NGA), National Museum of Australia (NMA), National Maritime Museum & Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, Queensland Art Gallery / Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) and in many private collections in Australia and abroad.
